Pastor John works through Matthew 7:1-12, showing that “judge not” is not a ban on discernment but a warning against hypocritical, self-righteous judgment. Jesus marks out two ditches to avoid — truth without grace (being overly harsh) and passivity that never speaks the truth in love — and calls His followers to remove the log from their own eye, to ask, seek and knock with confidence in a good Father, and to treat others the way they want to be treated.
