About
John Coker

Our mission
Mobilize the Church to transform Levy County.
John Coker is the pastor of Bronson First Baptist Church in Bronson, Florida.
John Coker is a pastor, husband, dad, and church leader whose life mission is to mobilize the Church to transform Levy County.
More than anything, John loves Jesus. That love shapes everything else in his life, from his marriage and family to the way he approaches ministry. He believes the local church should be far more than a place people attend on Sunday. It should be an active force for the gospel in its community, meeting real needs, loving real people, and demonstrating the love of Jesus in practical ways.
Whether that means helping a single mom, giving away clothes, feeding families, serving schools, caring for children, or addressing whatever needs exist in a particular community, John wants to see churches rediscover their responsibility to be present, active, and engaged. His passion is helping churches move beyond simply talking about the gospel to living it out in ways their neighbors can see and experience.
John is also deeply proud of his wife, Ashly, who works with the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, serving children from birth to age five who are blind or visually impaired. Together, John and Ashly have built their life around Jesus, family, ministry, and serving others.
They have three children. JT is studying engineering in college. Madi is married to Noel, and together they are raising Sofia and Braden. Their youngest son, Orion, was adopted into the Coker family and is seven years old, full of personality, and one of the greatest joys of their lives.
Their home is also full of animals, with two dogs, three cats, and two chickens, so life around the Coker house is rarely quiet and almost never boring.
At the heart of John’s ministry is a simple conviction: when churches truly follow Jesus, their communities should be different because they are there.
